Considering I’ve currently 5,382 photos on my iPhone, deciding to pick out my favourites was no easy feat.
I’ve photos of random things, like cups of coffee and forgotten brunches, to unidentifiable photos I took to remind myself to do something, but most important of all, I’ve photos of some of the best memories of my life.
There are photos of things I knew would be important, like pictures from my boyfriend’s graduation, and pictures I took without a second thought at the time that have turned out to have so much meaning for me.
So I went through all 5,382 photos to see which were most important to me, and came up with 48. Then I filtered through them again and cut it down to 13 photos that each have a special meaning, and are the ones I’ll never delete – no matter how many times my iCloud runs out of memory.
Of course, there are dozens of other photos on and off my phone of friends, family members and holidays that mean the world to me too, but these 13 are the ones that I feel like represent my personal life most.
Interestingly, none of these photos are selfies or perfectly posed photos taken for Instagram; they’re the random pictures taken while having a good time and wanting to capture the moment – and I think that’s really something to think about.
It’s a little scary sharing such a sensitive part of myself and my life on the internet, but I hope you enjoy it!
This photo of me and my mam is one that I hold very close to my heart. I have the original photo beside my dresser, and it makes me smile whenever I look at it, and the same applies to when I look at this one on my phone.
I took this selfie of me and my dad last year and I love how happy we look – and that we’re both wearing shades!
Another photo with my dad from my 21st birthday, I always laugh when I see this. He surprised me with a brilliant cake with ‘WhatSheDoesNow’ on it, and I love how we’re both laughing and so happy in it.
Again, a picture from my 21st with my dad, nanny and grandad. My 21st nearly went up in the air after the venue we’d booked cancelled four hours before people were due to arrive, but we ended up pulling it together and finding an even better location. It was such a special night having everyone I love in one room, and even though we’re not looking the right way, I feel like this photo is a snapshot of a great night.
Next up is me and my boyfriend George at his cousin Sean’s wedding to Lindsey in San Diego in 2016. I don’t remember this photo being taken, but I remember how happy and carefree we both were during the best trip (and one of the best days) of our lives.
George and I sipping champagne at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Paris is somewhere I wanted both of us to go for years, and being there together was so special.
A photo from my dad’s 50th birthday, where I got him back with a personalised cake! We both still laugh about the cake to this day, and it was a brilliant night with all of our friends and family, although sad because my mam wasn’t there.
Out of all of the posed photos I make George take with me on nights out when we’re glammed up, this one of us in our gym gear out by the seafront is my favourite. The seafront is one of our favourite places to go, and I love the sun in the background of this picture and how happy we both are.
Again, with my boyfriend on his graduation. He worked so hard to be wearing that cap and gown, and I couldn’t have been prouder to be standing beside him.
Our lil Bella! I took this photo of her out in the snow last month and I just can’t get over how cute she is in it. We had a health scare with her a few weeks ago, and it’s really made me appreciate how much of an important part of our lives she is even more.
With my two best friends Jen and Emma a few years ago. We really don’t have a lot of pictures of the three of us together somehow – although we’re getting better! They’re my two best friends, and I honestly don’t know what I’d do without them.
Another picture with my dad, this time at my graduation. Both my dad and George were there to watch me graduate, and it meant so much to me.
Lastly, this photo of my mam. Again, I have a hard copy, but the photo was taken in Italy, where we had loads of great family holidays, and she just looks so happy.
Interestingly, none of these photos are selfies or perfectly posed photos taken for Instagram; they’re the random pictures taken while having a good time and wanting to capture the moment – and I think that’s really something to think about.
What are the most important photos on your phone? I’d love to hear!
It was so lovely for you to share this post. All of the images are so stunning!
