Following on from part 1 and part 2, here’s the last and final post of my US beauty haul!
After clearing Sephora through and through, there were still some drugstore brands I was dying to get my hands on. I dragged my boyfriend to the biggest Target we could find, grabbed a basket and got lost in the makeup aisles.
Here’s what I bought:
The Crest 3D Whitestrips were top of my list as I’ve heard so many amazing reviews about them. I bought the Glamorous White version as they were the best value for money at around $40 for 28 strips (14 treatments.) I’ve used the strips twice and I’ve definitely noticed that the coffee/tea stains in my teeth (lovely) have reduced and almost disappeared. I’m looking forward to seeing how they look after 14 goes!
For some reason unbeknownst to me I felt the urge to buy a facial scrub, so I got the Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub. I haven’t tried it out yet because it has been sitting in a bag in my room to encourage me to write this post, but I’ll report back when I do!
I was dying to try something from Covergirl, and the Covergirl Full Flash Bloom Mascara looked right up my street. It has a plastic wand, it’s waterproof and it’s said to give intense volume – what more could you want?!
I wanted to get a primer but I didn’t want to spend lots of money on one, so I bought the Pixi by Petra Flawless and Poreless Primer in the mini version. That way, I can buy the full size if I like it, but if I don’t I didn’t waste a lot of money.
The Ardell Glamour Multipack was a no-brainer. I love Ardell lashes, although I usually wear the Demi Wispies. These should last me right through the Christmas party season!
Oooh I totally forgot I bought this! Again, after hearing rave reviews I got the NYX HD Concealer in 02. I’m a huge fan of drugstore concealers (Collection Lasting Perfection is my fave), although now I might have a new favourite – we’ll have to see!
Another NYX product, I was delighted when I saw they had the NYX Lip Lingerie in stock. I got the shade Lipli 03, which looks like a gorgeous everyday nude.
After seeing Kathleen Lights use it so many times, I had to buy the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer. I’ve used this since the day I bought it and I absolutely love it. It gives a gorgeous, natural colour and contour to the face and smells amazing. If you can get your hands on it, I highly recommend picking it up!
Brush-wise, I got the e.l.f Small Tapered Brush, which is super soft and I think will be good for powder and contour.
Fiiiinally I bought a fan brush! I got the Sonia Kashuk Duo Fiber Fan Brush for highlighter and I’m soOo excited to try it out.
Lastly, I got the e.l.f. Small Stipple Brush as I’m desperately in need of a new foundation brush and wanted to try something different than Real Techniques.
And that’s it – that’s every beauty product I bought in the US! Safe to say I won’t need to buy makeup for quite a while (although I can’t make any promises.) I think it goes without saying, but of course I’ll have reviews and features of these up in the coming weeks, so make sure you keep an eye out!
I hope you enjoyed reading about what I picked up while on holiday – I know I love seeing people’s hauls! And maybe it’ll give a little inspiration/motivation to what’s in the shops and what to pick up, but don’t blame me if you leave with more than one thing!
