Some days (ie. most days for me) a BB cream or tinted moisturiser just doesn’t cut it. Whether you want to hide blemishes, dark circles or are just looking for a full-coverage base, these three products will do the job.
Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation is a new addition to my makeup collection, but as soon as I started using it I wondered how I had gone so long without it. The sales assistant was so lovely and helpful, and matched me to the shade 1N2 Ecru, which I’m really happy with.
The bottle doesn’t come with a pump and Estee Lauder don’t sell any to go with it (v. annoying!) but apparently the MAC pumps fit perfectly. I haven’t gotten a chance to pick one up yet so I’ve been pouring the product onto my hand, which is quite tricky as a lot comes out at once. But the struggle to get the right amount of product out is totally worth it. The coverage that this foundation gives is amazing. It’s non-cakey and sits really well on the skin.
This stuff doesn’t budge. Heat, water, sweat, tears – it stays in place through it all. However, it’s surprisingly easy to remove with cleanser. I use about a 10 cent coin-sized blob to cover my entire face with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush , and then stipple just a little bit more onto blemishes.
To brighten under the eyes, Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer is my new favourite. It brightens and lightens under the eyes, giving a really nice glow that’s non-shimmery. I use the shade 010 Ivory.
Finally, for redness and scarring that still shows through, Vichy Dermablend Corrector Stick (I use the shade 15) conceals like no other. It’s made specifically to cover blemishes and does the job so well. I apply it straight from the stick onto my skin and press it in with a small fluffy brush.
A light dusting of powder on top to seal and set everything into place and you’re good to go! I use MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in light, but Rimmel Stay Matte is an amazing dupe for a fraction of the price.
These three products work so well together and give coverage like nothing else I’ve ever tried – sorry MAC Studio Fix!
Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever tried any of these products or what you use for a full coverage finish!
