Although I’ve more makeup brushes than I’d like to admit, I find myself using the same one over and over again for different products when I’m doing my makeup. The Real Techniques Buffing Brush is a cult classic, and for good reason. It’s the only brush I ever use to apply foundation and if I had to use just one brush for applying all of my base for the rest of my days, it would be this one.
Rooting through my brushes at 7am isn’t something that I particularly enjoy doing, so one morning I found myself using this brush for everything and needing nothing else. If you’re travelling or just want quick makeup application, this brush and these products will have you sorted.
NARS Sheer Glow is my favourite foundation, and this brush blends and buffs makeup into the skin for a flawless finish. As for concealer, a few dabs of Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer under the eye and on blemishes covers everything you need. I gently press the top of this brush where I’ve applied concealer for great coverage and a smooth finish. I love this brush because it presses the product onto the skin without leaving a cakey residue, so it’s perfect for powder too. MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Light is my fave. A swipe of MAC Paint Pot in Bare Again on the lids and that’s eye makeup complete.
A separate brush isn’t usually needed for mascara, brows and lipstick, so sweep those on and that’s makeup done! This would be my super-quick minimal makeup routine so there’s no bronzer or blush, but this brush would be ideal for applying those products too. It’s truly a one-brush-does-all! If you want to try out Real Techniques brushes, or are looking to add one to your collection, I’d 100% recommend buying this one – you’ll definitely get your money’s worth out of it!
