Autumn Lipstick Picks

With September in full swing, I thought there was no better time to share my favourite lipsticks for my favourite season. Although I’m a nude lipstick gal through and through, I can’t help but keep picking up gorgeous berry colours for the fall. I’m going to make an effort in the coming weeks to make sure I wear each of these colours at least once. Who’s with me?

Although MAC Twig looks quite brown in the swatch, it doesn’t come across as brown on the lips. It’s the perfect nude for autumn, as well as being really pigmented and creamy.

I think Revlon Raspberry Pie is my favourite out of all of these lipsticks. It’s creamy, moisturising and has great colour payoff. As well as loving the name, I absolutely love the rich berry colour.

NYX Milan is another autumn nude, except it’s a bit more pink-toned than Twig. I usually wouldn’t be a fan of matte lipsticks, but this matte lip cream somehow manages to give a gorgeous matte effect without drying out the lips.

This wouldn’t be an autumn lipstick post if I didn’t mention MAC Rebel. It’s the ultimate purple, berry-coloured lipstick. What I love so much about this is that you can really build up the colour. It can either be raspberry-coloured, like above, or a deep purple depending on how much you apply.

NYX San Paulo is like a darker version of Milan, with a slight hint of red to it. It’s really long-lasting on the lips, so you don’t have to worry about it coming off mid hot chocolate. On days when I want something with a bit of gloss I just add Vaseline on top to turn it from matte to shiny.

A red lipstick is essential in the autumn lipstick rainbow. I love NYX Spicy as it’s an extreme shine lip cream, which makes it a dream to apply. The colour doesn’t run and just one application lasts a few hours. I think it’s the only red lipstick that you can apply without a mirror, which is a major bonus in my books.

Last but not least, MAC Plumful. This was the colour that I found easiest to wear last autumn as   it’s quite sheer so it wears off really well. It’s really creamy and gives a lovely berry sheen to the lips without being too strong. Perfect for trips to town and during the day.

Let me know what your lipstick picks for autumn are in the comments below, I’d love to hear!
