I’ve never been a big fan of blusher, but ever since cream blush has entered my life I have been totally hooked. I just find that powder blushes don’t sit well on my skin, and either look too heavy or like I’m not wearing any blush at all.
Enter cream blushes.
It all started with MAC Casual Lip and Cheek Colour in Keep It Loose. It’s a gorgeous baby pink that gives the cheeks a gorgeous, natural flush. I just dab a stippling blush in, dot it on my face and blend. The result is a beautiful light, dewy pop of pink. Although some people tend to use cream blushes only in the warmer months, I use them all year round. The result is much more natural and fresh in my opinion – I can’t get enough of them!
NYX Stick Blush in Pink Lotus is a really bright pink, much stronger than what I’d usually wear! But cream blushes are really buildable, so you can control the amount of colour you want to apply. I simply spread it on from the stick and blend it in with my fingers. I’ve started applying blush more on the tops of my cheeks/ cheekbones, rather than the apples of my cheeks, and really love the result. I find that the colour stands out more and looks less painted on.
I spoke about picking up No. 7 Pop & Glow cream blush in Mango Sorbet during the week, and safe to say I’m already in love. It’s an orange/peach shade, which is totally different to my usual pinks, but it’s such a gorgeous colour! The formula of this is much creamier than that of the NYX stick blush, but it still has great colour pay off. I think this colour will look great with a tan during the summer!
I’ve really been loving cream products in general lately, let me know if you have any favourites!
Take joy in the little things, for one day you’ll look back and realise they were the big things
I love cream blushes at the moment too. they are a bit tricky to apply though! xx
That’s so interesting that you think powder blushes don’t sit well on your skin…I feel like cream blushes don’t sit well on mine! I definitely need to play around with them more because I think they give such a beautiful flush of color and make the skin look very glowy. Great post 🙂 -BeautyByAndriana
I LOVE cream blushes! My favorite is from Skinn Cosmetics – in Teen Tone.
