The Overnight Makeup Bag

Image

A trip to my friend’s house a few nights ago led to me being faced with the *tough* decision of what to pack in my makeup bag. For a girl who has a dresser full of makeup, deciding what to bring with me was actually pretty easy. When staying somewhere overnight, you want to make sure that you bring products with you that you can depend on and that you know work well. These are the ones I chose…

For foundation, the choice was pretty easy. NARS Sheer Glow is a foolproof foundation for me. It gives good coverage and a dewy finish. This applied with Real Techniques Expert Face Brush provides a flawless base. Concealer, of course, had to be NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. It doubles up as an under eye concealer, as well as covering blemishes. I use a fluffy brush by Jessup to apply this. MAC Lip and Cheek Colour is the perfect cream blush, that gives a gorgeous pop of colour and dewy finish for spring.  Bronzer has snuck into my daytime routine to give my otherwise pale face a bit of tan and contour, and I’ve been absolutely loving Benefit Hoola since discovering it a few weeks ago. Real Techniques Blush Brush is the perfect size and shape for contouring and warming the face. As usual, MAC Mineralise SkinFinish is my go-to powder to keep shine at bay, without totally mattifying the face. MAC Paint Pot in Vintage Selection and L’Oreal Superliner are all I use on my eyes. They’re quick and easy to use and look great too. L’Oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara has been my favourite mascara lately, but sadly it’s nearly run out and not available in Ireland! A trip to Boots is needed then… I’ve currently been obsessed with using Anastasia Brow Wiz on my brows lately, it gives the perfect shape and definition without looking fake. Filling in my brows has never been so easy! As usual, I love a nude lip, so MAC Shy Girl has gotten plenty of use. It’s the perfect peachy nude, which I love for spring!

What are your overnight makeup bag essentials?

You seem to know exactly what you need and want! This is just what I have been trying to get right for ages. A perfect make up bag with all my main bits that I can take with me anywhere. I have a separate bag that I like to use on the daily, away from my make up collection, but I just can’t pin down exactly what to put in there. I’m getting there slowly. It’s interesting you use NARS for both foundation and concealer. I’ve heard good things about both so I might have to give them a whirl. Rosemary x

once you get it right it’s brilliant! just keep testing products and you’ll eventually find what you’re looking for! The NARS foundation and concealer are a great duo, definitely worth giving a try! xx
