Shoes – where do I begin? They are loved by nearly every female on the planet, and have the ability to make even the strongest woman weak at the knees (literally) – shoes are a powerful thing. I’m not exactly a ‘shoe-addict’, I mean I love shoes, don’t get me wrong, but once I find a pair that I love I tend to stick with them for a while. I like buying shoes that I know I’ll be able to wear on most occasions – ‘cost per wear’ is my middle name. These are the three pairs of shoes that I always turn to for their given occasions, that I know I can depend on and, most importantly, are comfortable and look amazing.
Dressy – Kurt Geiger
I bought these nude heels for my Debs back in August, and I’ve worn them for nearly every single night out since. Despite the quite high heel, they are really comfortable thanks to the platform and I (usually) last all night long in them. The nude colour means I can match them but almost any outfit, and the thin criss-cross strap gives them a little something extra. I usually wear them for nights out with dresses or trousers, but they’d look great for a more dressed-up dinner, too. I was worried about spending what I felt was a lot of money on a pair of heels, but they’ve truly paid for themselves and I can see myself wearing them for a long time!
Dressy-Casual – Office
You know those occasions that aren’t dressy, but aren’t exactly casual either? You don’t want to go the whole hog and wear heels, but flats feel a bit too comfortable? Bam – that’s where these babies come in. They’re the perfect mid-heel that turns a casual outfit into something a little bit more dressy. I love black boots (as you can see from my third pair of shoes), and immediately fell in love with these. The zip down the front is something I’ve never really seen before, and the chunky heel was obviously a seller for me. I’d wear these to a concert, a casual dinner, or a trip to town.
Everyday – Jeffrey Campbell Coltranes
I’ve a few pairs of Jeffrey Campbell heels, but never even thought of buying a pair of flats from the brand. That was until I saw their Coltranes. Oh my. The cut-out detailing, the understated buckles, the platform and chunky heel made them a shoe sent from heaven in my eyes. Given that skinnies and an oversized tee is my go-to look, boots are a firm favourite in my wardrobe. These Coltranes are a bit more than your classic boot, taking an otherwise drab outfit to something fab (cheesy, I know). They’re super comfortable and give a bit of extra height, something 5’6″ me needs.
I hope you enjoyed this type of post, it’s kind of different from what I usually do but I’m trying to incorporate more fashion into my posts! If only a had a photographer to take OOTD’s…
