While I always run to Lush for bath bombs and soaps, I’ve never really thought of buying their skincare. I love the idea behind what they create, everything is so natural and there are no nasty chemicals. So when my skin broke out worse than it ever had before, and none of my usual products were helping, I turned to Lush. And boy am I glad I did!
My love of tea tree oil inspired this purchase. I usually use pure tea tree oil to treat my spots, but that just wasn’t doing the job this time. The combination of tea tree and witch hazel in a gel form made this product a total seller for me. It was relatively cheap, at €7.50 for a 45g bottle.
As soon as I started to use this product, my skin cleared up. And I don’t say that lightly. Although I don’t attribute my skin’s whole transformation to this product, it definitely helped it immensely. It is a clear gel, that’s slightly lumpy and dries like a film on the skin. I apply it using an earbud so no bacteria from my fingers gets onto the spot. I thought that I wouldn’t like the way the product dries onto the skin, but I really do. It makes me feel like it’s really working into the blemish, and I also know that the product hasn’t rubbed off as I can feel it on my face. For that reason I wouldn’t recommend wearing this during the day as it may peel off if you touch your face, and certainly will if you apply foundation on top. Using it once at night, or just during the day if I was at home, worked wonders for me. It reduced the size of my blemish, toned down the redness and basically ‘zapped’ my spots away. Within two days my skin had dramatically improved. The only thing I can criticise about this product is the amount of gel that comes out in one pump. There’s no ‘half a pump’ per se, it’s either a whole pump, or none at all. So, as my skin improved and I didn’t need as much gel, I felt like I was kind of wasting it. But that’s all totally worth it for the results it gives!
If you’re experiencing a bad time with you skin, or just have one or two pesky blemishes that you’d like to get rid of, I would 100% give this product a try. It’s not often that a product would make such a different to the condition of my skin, but this little hero from Lush has done the job wonderfully.
Happy weekend everyone, have a good one!

Hmm this looks like something I may need to buy. Great review. Have you experienced any problems with this drying out your skin? X
It’s definitely worth a buy! Thank you so much! I haven’t experienced any at all, I just kept to my normal moisturizing routine and had no problems! You could apply moisturizer before applying the gel, but I just stuck to applying it to the areas I needed it, and the gel everywhere else! X
I got a spot gel from elemis fresh skin and it’s amazing, spots disappear so quickly. The downside is I’m then left with really tight dry patches because it totally dries out the area. I think it’s time to try this one and hope it fares better. Thanks for the quick reply. Xx
Ohh I must give that a try, anything at all that helps me get good skin is a winner in my eyes! That’s a big disadvantage 🙁 I really didn’t experience any dryness with this product, I hope it works as well for you as it does for me! xx
I will definitely get this in my next lush shop. And yeah, it’s great for the really painful spots, but leaves my skin so dry (maybe doesn’t help my skin is dry anyway), but I would rather a dry patch than a big red spot lol xx
I can’t wait to hear how you get on with it! That’s a good point, dry patches are easier to deal with than spots I suppose! X
I had no idea they sold this product. Awesomesauce. I could totally use this.
it’s totally worth a buy! I hope you like it as much as I do! x
Sounds great, I’d be worried it’d be too drying for me though.
I didn’t find it drying at all, I must say. Gels can be quite drying though, maybe ask someone who works in LUSH what they think, as they’ll probably know all the science-related things behind it! x
