When the time comes and the seasons change, my wardrobe isn’t the only thing that needs updating. Moving from dark lips and smoky eyes to coral colours and neutrals means only one thing –spring is coming. Here’s a list of some of the beauty bits that I’d love to try for spring 2014. A spring clean doesn’t mean only cleaning out your house, right?
NARS ‘Final Cut’ blush – I’m desperately in need of a new blush, well maybe not desperately, but NARS always impress me with their blush range. This gorgeous pink shade from NARS is the perfect colour for spring. Rosy cheeks and a natural glow? Yes please.
Topshop Lip Bullet in Crave – I’ve heard great things about Topshop Lip Bullets – anything that’s easy to apply and looks great is a winner in my books. A girl can never have too many nude shades, and Crave is another one I’d like to add to my collection.
NARS Lip Gloss in Super Orgasm – What better than a peachy pink lipgloss with gold glitter to wear throughout the spring?
Topshop Nail Varnish in Pastel Glitter Light Blue – Pastels were everywhere last spring, and nothing is going to change this year. This sparkly pastel blue nail polish is the perfect transitioning piece if you’re still stuck in winter-mode.
Dior Backstage Lash Curler – They don’t say ‘wide-eyed and bushy-tailed’ for nothing. A good lash curler is the perfect tool to make you look more awake than you are, and is one of the quickest ways to open up your eyes.
EOS Lip Balm – It seems like everyone and their granny has tried the EOS Lip Balm, apart from me. The perfect way to keep your lips hydrated in the changing weather, and with such cute packaging – I can’t wait to order mine!
Urban Decay Naked Bascis Palette – The neutral colours in this Naked Basics palette are perfect for everyday makeup for spring (and all year, for that matter), and the palm-sized packaging is perfect for carrying around in your handbag incase of emergency touch-ups. Urban Decay really get it right when it comes to eyeshadows, this baby has been on my wish list for a long time!
Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder in Bronze Glow – Glowing, highlighted skin screams spring, and this palette from Bobbi Brown has gorgeous gold, brown and nude colours to achieve whatever kind of glow you want. Some of the colours could even double up as shimmer eyeshadows, now that’s a good deal if I’ve ever seen one!
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte ‘Flower Crush’ Lipstick – These lipsticks are the beholders of the most stunning packaging I’ve ever seen, never mind the beautiful coral pink colour of the lipstick itself. A coral lipstick will last right through spring and summer, and is a really nice change from nude lipsticks, which I need to step away from (apart from Topshop’s ‘Crave’ of course).
Pro Beauty Makeup Blender Blending Foundation Sponge – The Beauty Blender was a hugely hyped product last year, so I can’t wait to try this cheaper alternative for a flawless finish on lightweight foundation for spring/summer.
Chanel ‘Chance’ Eau de Parfum – I had this perfume before and used up every single drop. It literally smells like spring in a bottle – fresh and floral.
Makeup Forever HD Foundation – While this foundation is in no way lightweight, it is said to have fantastic lasting power and give a flawless finish – perfect for photographs, nights out and days when your skin need a little something extra.
MAC Mineralize Blush from the Divine Night Collection – A pearlescent, glowy blush (can you see a theme here?) that is buildable and easy to blend. Perfect for use all year long, not just spring.
Bourjois Colour Boost Lipstick – A drugstore dupe for Clinique’s Chubby Sticks, this Bourjois lip crayon is moisturising and gives great colour payoff. The orange colour is buidable so you can go as sheer or as opaque as you like.
Real Techniques Blush Brush – A new blusher brush is needed for all of these new blushers, right? This brush could be used for bronzer, highlighter and powder too, so really it’s an investment.
I hope you enjoyed reading this, please leave any products that you’d love to try for spring down below, or any reviews on the products I’ve listed above!
