Bobbi Brown BB Cream Review

Image

Bobbi Brown isn’t a brand that I’d purchase from often, but every time I do I’m totally impressed. I love the values that Bobbi Brown represents – beauty comes from within and beauty is natural. I’ve read three books by Bobbi Brown, and Pretty Powerful (pictured above) is a favourite of mine because it not only shows how to apply makeup, but includes ‘beauty stories to inspire confidence.’ When it comes to branding, Bobbi Brown has my vote.

Anyway, onto the product. While I wrote my Foundation Edit post last week and discussed foundations that I love for day and night, up till two weeks ago my makeup collection didn’t include a high end BB cream. I tried Garnier’s BB cream during the summer, and I loved it, but after receiving a few vouchers for Christmas, I thought I’d pick up a high end BB cream for the days that I need a little something extra. I knew that Bobbi Brown was the place where I’d find what I was looking for – something natural and suitable for wearing on a day-to-day basis.

I picked up the shade Light which blended perfectly onto my hand. I actually left the store after swatching and went into the natural light to make sure it was a good match, and it was. There are nine shades available, beginning with Very Light and ending in Rich. One thing that really attracted me to this BB cream is the fact that it has SPF 35, which is perfect for going out and about during the day. I find that some BB creams don’t provide very good coverage, but this one is medium coverage and looks really natural. I always apply a bit of concealer where I need it on blemishes on top of this BB cream in order to completely cover them up, Collection’s Lasting Perfection concealer is perfect for this.

The formula is creamy (who would have thought a BB cream would be creamy?!) and light weight, leading to easy blending. I sometimes apply this just using my fingers but the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush provides a flawless finish. Like BB creams are supposed to be, this cream is moisturising and brightens your skin. It covers dark circles and redness really well and evens out your skin tone. You don’t need much to cover your whole face, a pea-sized amount is enough. This BB cream has great lasting power and doesn’t stick to dry patches or rub off throughout the day. It’s perfect for applying if you’re heading out for the day and want something that gives the your skin but better effect.

While Bobbi Brown is a high end makeup brand, and this BB cream costs around €36, I really believe that it is worth it. With Bobbi Brown you get what you pay for and the quality of the product is truly high. If you’re looking for something for every day wear, I would really recommend this. Although I’m a heavy coverage gal by night, I’m definitely a medium coverage gal by day.

Have you tried any Bobbi Brown products before? Please comment below if you have, I’d love to try out more because I’m so impressed with this product!
