The release of the first Naked palette in 2010 sparked a revolution in the beauty world – one palette provided all the brown/gold colours you need. I’ve collected the three Naked palettes over the years and hardly ever find myself looking in the beauty aisles for eyeshadows, each palette has sufficient colours to create loads of different looks for day and night. While the Naked 1 and 2 weren’t too different from each other – with both staying in the nude/brown/gold range – the Naked 3 blew everyone away with its rose/pink/gold tones. Some aren’t a huge fan of the new colour range, and the Naked 3 seems to be least favourable among beauty gurus, but I absolutely love it.
The colours are really feminine and make rose-toned eyeshadow very wearable. Pink eyeshadow is never something that I would consider wearing but the Naked 3 achieves the perfect balance between pink and nude. I find this palette is more suited to what I would wear for a daytime look instead of night, but I’m not complaining! There are four matte colours in the palette – Strange, Limit, Nooner and Darkside – which are perfect for wearing on your lid or blending into the crease. Each of the other colours are shimmery – which I love. Every colour in the palette is really pigmented and applies easily onto the lid. With some palettes I find that I wear only a fraction of the colours, but each of the colours in the Naked 3 are really wearable. The only colour I would struggle with wearing is Blackheart – a black colour with red glitter throughout. While I mightn’t use Blackheart as much as the other colours, it can be used to darken the crease or line the eye. The double ended brush is a bonus – the fluffy end is perfect for blending while the thinner, flatter end is ideal for packing on colour or lining under the eye.
While the Naked 3 currently retails at €45, it works out at only €3.75 each for the 12 shades, which is a total bargain in my eyes! If you like feminine, soft eye-looks, then this is the palette for you. However, the darker colours towards the end of the palette – Factory, Mugshot, Darkside and Blackheart – allow you to create more intense, smoky looks, if that’s what you’re looking to achieve. The Naked 3 is a total all-rounder in my eyes, and I’m sure I will be using it right throughout this year and for many more to come!
Starting at the end of the palette:
From left to right: Blackheart, Darkside, Mugshot, Factory
From left to right: Liar, Nooner, Trick, Buzz
From left to right: Limit, Burnout, Dust, Strange

Have you tried the Naked palettes before? Which is your favourite?
*Happiness is a state of mind*
I have all three of the Naked palettes too. I have a lot of cool undertones in my skin, so I find myself leaning toward the 2 & 3! Love your blog 🙂
I agree, the Naked 1 is a bit stronger I think and is more for dramatic night time looks. Urban Decay really know they’re stuff with eyeshadows! Thank you so much, I really appreciate that 😀 <3 x
The buzz colour looks gorgeous! I’m currently debating whether to be brave and try Naked 3 and more pink tones, or be safe and buy Naked 2 haha, such a difficult decision xx
It’s such a nice shade! If I was you I’d go for the Naked 2, personally I think it gives more day and night time options, so it’s good to start with! Both are gorgeous though, you can’t go wrong with Urban Decay! Xx
Thanks so much for the advice 🙂 I think I will go for Naked 2 because I’ll get more wear out of it xx
No problem! I agree, and you can always pick up the Naked 3 in a few months if needs be 😉 x
I have been coveting the Naked 3 since it came out! I hope I get my hands on this palette soon! Great post! I am a new follower of your blog!

Great post! I’ve actually been contemplating which of the Naked palettes to purchase for a while now. I enjoy more neutral shades for a natural look that will compliment green eyes. I’m not entirely sure which way to go. Any suggestions? xx
Thank you so much! If you’re looking into getting your first Naked palette, i would recommend Naked 2. It’s like an upgrade to the Naked 1, I think, and has loads of gorgeous brown/gold and neutral shades that are perfect for day and night looks and would really compliment green eyes. I think you’d get more value for money with the Naked 2 because I feel like there’s so much more you can do with it than the Naked 3. Hope this helps! xx
Thank you so much! Helped a lot 🙂
love your blog…thanks for the advice. i just brought the basic one but I’m definitely going to purchase more 🙂
Thank you so much! I’d love to try the Naked Basics palette, it looks amazing! X
